Year 12 Drama at Epsom Girls Grammar School presents The Last Gasp Cafe by Sarah Delahunty.
Located in a remote New Zealand country town, the Last Gasp Cafe serves as the gathering place of an eccentric cast of characters. When city slicker Jamie Lomax crashes his car while driving through the town, his business tycoon father suddenly sees the opportunity for some lucrative land development, upsetting the town’s equilibrium. All of this is observed by mysterious figures known as Team Leaders and The Unseen, who narrate the action and control the fate of the characters.
With elements of comedy, drama, romance and magical realism, The Last Gasp Cafe is a thought-provoking play that is sure to intrigue and entertain audience members.
