Celebrate the best of young NZ talent in the 2018 NZCT Chamber Music Contest
Celebrate the best of young New Zealand talent in the 2018 NZCT Chamber Music Contest. Join us for an evening of arresting performances by determined young musicians as they strive for a personal best in the Auckland District Finals – the culmination of a week of chamber music by Auckland secondary students. The level of musicianship at the District Finals on Sunday will be formidable, with some of these musicians going on to the National Finals in August. A delightful celebration of music making that will inspire listeners young and old.
This iconic secondary school musical event is held annually throughout the country in June and celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2015. We’re looking forward to another 50 years of inspiring youth music-making and to celebrate the fantastic musicians and composers that have launched their careers through the Contest.
